The expectation is one of that trio will miss out when Kevin Pietersen returns, but with them all showing promising form the selectors will be faced with a tough decision. Twenty-overs cricket limits that scope and so does not have a hook to engage the viewer, most times. The decision was based primarily on security concerns and whether or not Pakistan's players would be safe in India in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks a year ago. The tournament was eventually shifted to South Africa for security reasons but Pakistan's players were still not allowed to take part.
However, the board is hoping the situation may be different this time round, indicating that permission has been granted to the players by the board and higher authorities. "The PCB has given permission to players to take part in the IPL," Butt told Cricinfo. "Abdul Razzaq recently approached me and he has been given permission as well as others. Lalit Modi emailed to ask what the status of our players regarding IPL was and, when I met him in India, I told him the players were available and the relevant authorities had given permission."

The five-wicket victory broke New Zealand's semi-final hoodoo, both against Pakistan and in world events.

India have a 6' 5" problem going into what could be their last match of the tournament. Ishant Sharma's 15.3 overs for 92 runs tell just a part of the story: he has looked low on confidence and just seems to be putting the ball in, as opposed to putting real effort in it. The pace has been low too. But India also know that he can be a handful if they are playing on a green top at the Wanderers. It's a difficult decision to make, and they have duly delayed it to see the pitch and trends in the Pakistan-Australia match.
Mishra and Ashish Nehra were the most impressive bowlers in an Indian effort that lacked bite. There was sharp turn for Mishra but not a great deal of assistance for the fast bowlers, although India could also have used a sharper fielding effort - Paine should've been run out on 6 and on 31 his edge off Mishra flew between MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid at first slip.

Weariness could be a factor and Ricky Ponting said this week the squad featured a lot of tired bodies after a four-month tour of England. Australia are also without their one-day specialist Nathan Bracken, although there is plenty of pace-bowling backup in the squad.

Although satisfied with the pace reserves, Ponting said Australia could not afford to carry quicks in their twilight years. "Brett by that stage will be 34 (and Bracken 33), and you can have one of those guys as long as you don't have two or three," he said.

India suffered a setback even before their Champions Trophy campaign began, with Yuvraj Singh fracturing his finger during a practice session in Johannesburg. He has been ruled out for six weeks and, though Virat Kohli will replace him, his absence is likely to alter the roles of some of the main members of the batting line-up.
The last time the teams met in Centurion was in the 2003 World Cup, where India won by six wickets.
England don't have a collective strategy but Andy Flower, the coach, believes that they are equipped to handle him and Muttiah Muralitharan. "There is no team plan on how to play their spinners. There will be very much individual plans on how they play the spinners. That is a good challenge and I want to see who comes out of that well." Flower, a fine player of spin, would've loved it, but his players, who are not so fine, are not likely to relish it as much.
"Seeing Mendis for the first time is surprising. But our guys have had a good look at footage, we've spoken to other people who had success against him. The guys are as prepared as they can be without actually playing against him."

I try to debate. In that process, some people like me and some don't.

Although Bangladesh can argue they had a better case than West Indies, few could have envisaged the political turmoil in the Caribbean when the tournament was being drawn up. As a result the preliminary groups are neither meaningless cakewalks nor so fickle that one freak loss ends the tournament for a team. Throw in the fact that the top three teams are so close to each other, the No. 1 ranking is likely to change hands more often in this tournament than the baton in a relay race. So good on the ODIs, which do with this shot in the arm.
Both players in the act on Tuesday run the risk of becoming perennial best men: both have been consistent limited-overs teams for large parts of last 15 years, but only two players in each team have tasted success in an ICC event: Sanath Jayasuriya and Muttiah Muralitharan won the 1996 World Cup, and Mark Boucher and Jacques Kallis won the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998.
Since then South Africa have lost two World Cup semi-finals, one World Twenty20 semi-final, and three Champions Trophy semi-finals. Sri Lanka haven't been that consistent, but they too have lost a World Cup final and semi-final each, a World Twenty20 final, and shared a Champions Trophy final.
Kumar Sangakkara and Graeme Smith, the two captains who will open the Champions Trophy in Centurion, both believe the tournament will be crucial in directing the future of the ODI as a viable format in international cricket.
The issue has swiftly become the pre-tournament theme, amid increasing noise and disquiet about the format's health in the wake of Twenty20's prodigious rise. Both captains do believe, however, that this tournament - significantly, the first world championship in the format since the World Twenty20 in this country exactly two years ago - is ideally placed to provide ODIs with that boost.
"It's an important step," said Sangakkara. "In the 2007 World Cup the cricket was great, but lots of people thought it was way too long, had too many teams and days between games. The true test of ODI is in big tournaments like this, the appeal to fans and players and how much money TV networks make from it. South Africa is a wonderful place to play and I think it will be a good tournament."
Getting the balance right between the three formats, Sangakkara believed, will be the key, something the ICC has advised members to bear in mind as the new FTP is hammered out "Everything should exist in harmony and balance," he said. "We've got to find a solution, players, administrators and the public, where attention and import should be given to each format. Cricket started with Tests so we've got to maintain and protect its primacy but also ensure that the cash flows in and the fans have something to look at and enjoy."

Genelia Biography
In 2003, she started her career with three movies – the Hindi movie Tujhe Meri Kasam; the Tamil movie Boys; the Telugu movie Satyam. She worked opposite Ritesh Deshmukh in Tujhe Meri Kasam, which was a remake of Telugu movie Nuvve Kavali and saw an average response. Genelia’s Boys, on the other hand, which was a hit, as was Satyam.She built up her popularity in the South with Telugu movies like Samba (2004), Subash Chandra Bose (2005) and Sye (2005). The most beautiful woman in the world and the superstar of Tamil cinema created waves by shooting for a song sequence in Peru. Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikanth shot for the song at the UNESCO world heritage site, Machu Picchu, becoming the first to shoot there.
Robot as Enthiram was known earlier was in news constantly for various reasons. Earlier Shah Rukh Khan was approached to play the lead but he refused due to creative differences with director Shankar But then Shankar managed to convince the biggest of superstars, Rajnikanth. After some creative hustle and tussle, Robot was renamed as Enthiram.
The film is to be produced by Ayngaran and Eros International. AR Rahman has been roped in for scoring the music. This will be the second film for Aishwarya Rai under Shankar’s direction after ‘Jeans’.
Earlier, in an interview to a news daily, Aishwarya Rai talked in glowing details about the Tamil superstar, “ Rajini Sir is such a wonderful human being. He has been so close to the family, too. I am glad and honoured to be working with him.”
When asked about heroines getting sidelined in a Rajini film, Aishwarya refuted the claim, “I don’t think it’s a fair statement. You can’t but be fascinated by this phenomenon called Rajini sir. He is so super-fascinating and intriguing to his audience. I don’t think it’s a deliberate attempt by any director to sideline any actor/character working along with him.”
It will be interesting to watch the good vibes between this fascinating pair on screen when Enthiram hits the theatres.

Actor Vijay has tried out some daredevil stunts himself and the scene is set in a market place where Vijay is chasing Sri Hari, the villain. Vettaikaran promises to be a typical Vijay film and expectations are high. Vijay’s biggest hit till date is Ghilli (2004), followed by Pokkiri (2007). Vettaikaran, directed by Babu Sivan (earlier director Dharini’s assistant), is produced by AVM Productions; it is planned for release by June end!
Cinematographer Ravivarman who handled the camera for Villu was signed for the film Vettaikaran which also has Vijay in the lead. Now he has been dropped from this film all of a sudden. Search has begun for a new cinematographer.
The reason for dropping him is because his directorial venture of the film Moscowin Kaveri produced by Aascar Productions might get delayed. But reliable sources attribute to some other matter
Director Babu Sivan is making sure that every stunt scene being shot for Vettaikaran leaves the audience astounded! The stunt master who has been given the responsibility to handle the entire sequence is Kanal Kannan. Hectic action was reported from AVM Studios where the shoot is being canned.

Recently Vijay and Anushka completed shooting for a song in Kerala and next week they’re probably flying to abroad locations for a song to be canned.
